This is our second Designer series model of pre-amplifier. In this series of products there is no compromise in either sound quality or external appearance, we have done our best to make this product look great without loss of sound quality. That is the purpose of this special series of product line. Of course the cost is slightly higher due to a more complicated chassis design, but you will find it is a tremendous value.

The photos show the metallic look of the chassis for this model, you will find it hard to believe it is an all MDF wood chassis. The use of wood in tube gear is sometimes preferable as every tube exhibits microphonics, they will pick up their surrounding's vibration pattern. Wood construction is the best way to alleviate vibration pick-up, so we use MDF as the chosen material. At the same time some people prefer the look of metal, so we try very hard to make a wood chassis which exhibits this appearance. This state-of-the-art manufacturing process is reflected in this series of products.

This pre-amplifier uses a no-negative-feedback design, so an open sound stage and airy feeling can be achieved. At the same time a very special circuit design and fine-tuning technique is imbued to this unit to make the small tubes sound like a big tube (big tubes sound more natural and real in some instances) but still retain the advantage of small tubes (which is pin-point focusing and tighter bass control) . So with this pre-amp you can have a RICH, SWEET, OPEN, AIRY, GOOD FOCUS and TIGHT BASS PUNCH in one unit.

This model is equipped with a 6X5GT vacuum tube rectifier as opposed to the diode (solid-state) rectifier in our QA-1001 model. By adding an additional transformer and this tube rectifier, an airier and smoother tonal quality can be achieved. At the same time, an additional Diode Enable switch is built in the front panel, so when you listen to faster types of music you can switch to D-EN position. Then this diode will work with the tube section at the same time to provide a faster dynamic feeling. This is a superlative fine-tuning option, so almost every type of music can be perfectly handled by this state-of-the-art pre-amp’s awesome flexiblility.

This unit features both XLR balanced or RCA single-ended input and output capability, the circuit is our very special copyright design, which can show a significant improvement in focusing, dynamics, depth, and width of sound stage by employing the input or output XLR balanced connections. For most other products in the market you must use both input and output XLR balance connections to get the balanced amplification sonic improvements. Of course you can just use RCA input and output for this pre-amp , and the performance will still be better than those products asking over US$10,000 in the market we believe.
